How do you get your motivation back?

I’ve been asking myself this question for a few weeks now. I don’t know if it’s all of the stuff going on in my life right now or if it is that my quad or ITB or WHATEVER is making my leg hurt or a combination of the two that is making me have to force myself to run. I WANT to run, but trying to find the motivation is so hard. Maybe I should find someone to run with? That way I can be held accountable to get out there! OR…Not sure..but I’ll figure something out πŸ™‚

  1. I have been suffering off and on with my IT band on my left side. It have been since Boston 2008. I have found that after about 4 miles, it gets better. (not much help if you are only running 3) I have been rolling on a foam roller which helps, and I think getting adjusted at a chiropractor is beneficial. What I really need to do is get a good massage.
    Hopefully one of those options will help you.

  2. I feel for ya…hang in there it will get better…Last year I struggled a lot with my IT Band. I also used a foam roller with some success. After I ran a 1/2 I took sometime off and decreased my miles. I have not had the problem return while running the past 3 months. Hopefully when I increase miles it won’t. Good Luck!

  3. Thank you for your comments. I’m just going through a lull right now. I’m running, but having to force myself which ISN’T fun. I’m not sure what my condition is, but I’m bound and determined to get through it. πŸ˜‰

    I agree on the massage thing. I might just go and do that πŸ™‚
